When we treat the Cooperative Program as a mere program, we neglect the fact that the CP is, in fact, a tremendous method through which we channel funding to take the gospel to the nations.
One week into my current pastorate, I challenged our congregation to read through the Bible. Desiring to encourage participation, I offered a weekly lesson on how the gospel of Jesus Christ is evidenced in every book of the Bible. Many in our church showed interest, and so with great zeal for God’s Word, and with just as much ignorance on what it would take to finish the course, I embarked on teaching Genesis through Revelation in 52 weeks.
Today, during the first service, a heckler started yelling at him from the crowd during the closing minutes of his message… This heckler was loud & screaming something theological in response to Andy’s message. The point of this post is to help you as a church leader know how to handle situations like this.
My embarrassment is not about Tim Tebow. It’s always about ME.
